The ConnexU/BXL Website caters for the following user groups; Young Persons, Employers, Educators, Parents and Brokers. The key aims of the project were to initially update the current interface design to: aid navigation, improve usability, attract the correct target audience, and migrate the database information into an updated development environment.

Based on user feedback and technical capabilities this was then followed by the implementation of advanced Website functionality and features.

Deployment was fully project managed with a staged approach. All stakeholders were identified and the process managed to fit their needs and the project objectives. Training and support we part of the solution.

Planning & ensure successful delivery of all project requirements based on a PRINCE2/waterfall methodology.

• Defining a clear program of work and project schedule.
• All key deliverables were defined and using a PRINCE2 methodology stage based approach, and then deployed successfully.
• Training was provided on site for key stakeholders and user groups
• In depth step by step user guide and manuals were developed for the 4 key users and the website administrators
• Regular update meeting were scheduled with Project manager and stakeholders

Technical

• As part of support SLA - support was provided by the Five Rivers Helpdesk on 08458380755 and www.fiverivers.net/support . This incorporated technical issues including domains, email and hosting.
• An agreed 6 week period was set to allow for full user and stakeholder testing.
• Data Migration was one of the key initial project requirements.
• Existing data was stored in an open source MySQL database for both the Website content and actual vacancy based information.
• Five Rivers followed a systematic process based on our existing methodologies.
• Specific project constraints were implemented to comply with the data protection required for the confidential public sector data.
• Further recommendations on usability and relevance of updated data were implemented based on user feedback and updated project requirements.
